eLeetCode is a browser extension that helps users track and review their LeetCode practice. This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension handles, how that information is used and where it is stored.
Information handled by eLeetCode
LeetCode practice information
When used on a LeetCode problem page, eLeetCode may process:
- The problem URL, identifier, title and difficulty
- The selected programming language
- Source code displayed in the LeetCode editor
- Submission status, attempt outcome and completion timestamp
- Elapsed solving time
- Notes, tags, review flags and personal difficulty ratings entered by the user
This information is used only to create and display the user's personal LeetCode practice history.
GitHub connection information
To synchronize practice information with GitHub, users provide:
- A GitHub account or repository owner name
- Repository name
- Branch name
- Tracker and solution file paths
- A GitHub personal access token
These settings are stored locally using Chrome's extension storage. The personal access token is transmitted only to GitHub through the HTTPS GitHub API to perform repository operations requested by the user.
How information is used
eLeetCode uses the information it handles only to:
- Detect and record LeetCode practice attempts
- Save tracker data and optional solution code
- Load previously saved practice information
- Display practice summaries and progress information
- Synchronize information with the GitHub repository configured by the user
The information is not used for advertising, profiling, credit decisions or purposes unrelated to the extension's practice-tracking functionality.
Information sharing
eLeetCode does not sell user information.
Information is transmitted only to GitHub when necessary to read or update the repository selected by the user. GitHub's handling of information is governed by GitHub's own privacy policy and terms.
The current version of eLeetCode does not send user information to a developer-controlled server and does not use third-party analytics or advertising services.
Data storage and retention
GitHub connection settings are stored locally in Chrome's extension storage.
Practice history and optional solution code are stored in the GitHub repository selected by the user. Users control the repository and its visibility.
Users may remove locally stored settings by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling the extension. Information stored in GitHub can be modified or deleted directly from the configured repository.
Security
Communication with GitHub uses HTTPS. Users should create a fine-grained GitHub personal access token limited to the specific repository and permissions required by eLeetCode.
Users are responsible for protecting access to their browser profile, GitHub account and personal access token.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure
eLeetCode's use and transfer of information received through Chrome extension permissions complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
User information is used only to provide or improve eLeetCode's user-facing LeetCode practice-tracking functionality. It is not used for personalized advertising, sold to third parties or accessed by humans except where required by law, necessary for security purposes or explicitly requested by the user for support.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when eLeetCode's functionality or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
